This study does not reinvent the wheel, but it shows that it is possible to achieve reliable and reproducible ligament balancing in TKA using only fine bone recuts performed by a robotic arm under intraoperative load sensor guidance OrthoSensor, now part of Stryker, without soft tissue releases.
❗️However, we did not demonstrate a clinical benefit at 2 years, likely due to the limited number of “outlier” patients.
⚙️ Unfortunately, the load sensor used in this study has been withdrawn from the market, what a pity!
